800km +16.000m through some of the most remote and challenging places in Europe: the stunning forests of Sierra de Huétor, the deserts of Gorafe and Tabernas, the wild coasts of Cabo de Gata, the steep climbs of La Alpujarra and the highest Col in Europe, Pico Veleta (3.396m)
GRANADA
Granada is one of the most important cities in Andalusia, surrounded by the impressive Sierra Nevada, the forests of Sierra de Huétor, the natural plain of La Vega and close to the Mediterranean coast.
The Alhambra is the most renowned building of the Islamic historical legacy with its many cultural attractions that make Granada an unforgettable destination.
GORAFE DESERT
The large gullies and colourful sandstone formations make the Gorafe Desert one of the most amazing landscapes in Europe.
It’s located in the Granada Geopark, a natural plain plenty of gullies and badlands in the northern part of the province of Granada.
SIERRA DE LOS FILABRES
Sierra de los Filabres is the largest mountain range in the Province of Almería.
This is one of the most isolated and remote area of the route, with more than 100km without villages or resupplies, just riding across the forests and plateaus over 2.000m, including the iconic Calar Alto Observatory at 2.168m height.
TABERNAS DESERT
Located in the province of Almería, the Tabernas Desert is considered officially the only desert on the European continent.
The semiarid Mediterranean climate, a rainfall less than 250mm per year and an average temperature over 17°C form its landscape, a Mediterranean type sand covered gullies: the badlands.
CABO DE GATA
Cabo de Gata Natural Park is located in the Southeast Mediterranean coast, and it is one of Europe’s most unusual landscape, surrounded by volcanic rock formations, fossil beaches, abandoned villages and a windswept landscape.
LA ALPUJARRA
La Alpujarra is a historical region between the south slopes of Sierra Nevada and Sierra de Gádor, with some of the most remote and picturesque villages in Andalusia.
