GORAFE DESERT

The large gullies and colourful sandstone formations make the Gorafe Desert one of the most amazing landscapes in Europe.

It’s located in the Granada Geopark, a natural plain plenty of gullies and badlands in the northern part of the province of Granada.

SIERRAS DE BAZA Y LOS FILABRES

This mountain range is one of the most isolated and remote areas of the route, with more than 100km without villages or resupplies, just riding across the forests and plateaus over 2.000m, including the iconic Calar Alto Observatory at 2.168m height.

Located in the province of Almería, the Tabernas Desert is considered officially the only desert on the European continent.

The semiarid Mediterranean climate, a rainfall less than 250mm per year and an average temperature over 17°C form its landscape, a Mediterranean type sand covered gullies: the badlands.
